Air Pollution Control Equipment
Absorption scrubbers are used for the removal of gaseous components from a gas stream. These components could be odorous, acidic or alkaline, such as hydrocarbons, hydrochloric acid, sulphur dioxide and ammonia.
Frequently, the absorption scrubbers are combined with a quench system to cool and saturate the gas stream prior to entering the absorber vessel.
The absorption scrubbers are mostly equipped with a packed bed section, using different types of packing materials for the transfer of the gaseous components from the gaseous phase into the liquid phase, or multiple layer spraying sections using spray nozzles for mass transfer.
